I completely forgot to share this (blame it on the busy site schedule, keeping everything as up to date as possible) but Teen Wolf took home the “Fandom of the Year” awards during San Diego’s Comic-Con weekend;
Days after star Tyler Hoechlin told fans he had a “responsibility” when it came to embodying Superman on The CW’s Supergirl, the network has released a first-look image of the Teen Wolf alum donning the famed cape and tights.
Hoechlin will make his debut in Supergirl during the early episodes of the former CBS drama’s sophomore season when Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent will visit his famous sister, Kara (Melissa Benoist), in National City. Season two debuts Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
The Superman costume was designed by the show’s costume designer, Kiersten Ronning.
“It’s definitely incredibly surreal,” Hoechlin told fans at Comic-Con about taking on the iconic DC Comics character. “I know the character represents so much to so many people. This is not a generational thing. This is something literally spread across so much time. There is a lot of responsibility with this character. I’m really excited. I have not tried on the suit yet. That will be a moment for sure.”
Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Cody Christian, Dylan Sprayberry and Khylin Rhambo talk about the final season. Tyler confirms that this season is easier to understand. This season will have more than one villain;
Things are really heating up on Supergirl for season 2… and we mean that in so many ways.
For starters, there was that dreamy, season ending kiss between Kara (Melissa Benoist) and James (Mehcad Brooks). And, of course, there’s the equally dreamy arrival of Superman, who will be played by Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin. Both were hot topics when the cast — Hoechlin included — stopped by EW’s studio at San Diego Comic-Con.
“This is actually day 1 on the job for me,” Hoechlin admitted, saying he doesn’t know yet what the gig will really be like. When asked how long we should expect to see him in National City, he played coy: “That question I will not touch.”
Here’s the panel video of Teen Wolf at Comic-Con 2016 on July 21st 2016;
Are you excited for 2016 San Diego Comic-Con to kick off this weekend?!
The annual event officially starts tomorrow (July 21) and we have all your need-to-know information about Thursday’s schedule right here.
Casts from Marvel’s Luke Cage (Netflix), Mr. Robot (USA), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Fox), Teen Wolf (MTV), and more will be gathering for panels to talk about their respective shows.
4:30 pm: Teen Wolf (MTV)
TBA cast members and executive producer Jeff Davis (Ballroom 20)
San Diego Comic-Con will commence in just a few short weeks (July 21, to be exact) — and everyone’s favorite Teen Wolf supernaturals are returning for the annual event once again, MTV.com has confirmed;
And now, the highly anticipated details. First up, cast members and executive producer Jeff Davis will appear at a panel discussion/Q&A moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s resident TW expert Samantha Highfill in Ballroom 20 (home sweet home!) on Thursday, July 21 at 4:30PT. The gang will unveil an exclusive first-look Season 6 trailer (!!!), dish on upcoming storylines (more Stydia perhaps?) and answer audience questions.
MTV will also have its own branded booth (stop by, it’s #3729!) which will give fans an all-new, interactive Virtual Reality activation using first-to-market, gaze-activated technology. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to get autographs from a slew of MTV talent from Teen Wolf and The Shannara Chronicles. And yes, there will be free swag as well — including MTV portable chairs, MTV iFans, Teen Wolf fangs plus posters for both series and more (you know you want to get your paws on some of that). Be on the lookout for more signing schedule updates on our Teen Wolf social accounts (look out for the hashtag #TeenWolfSDCC).
Teen Wolf Online will also make sure to keep you up to date in regards to the event, so mark your agendas: July 21st is the date!
I’m not sure if I had shared this already, but Teen Wolf’s sixth season will have twenty (!!!) episodes;
Teen Wolf and Comic-Con go together like Scott and Stiles. Luckily, MTV has always been really great about delivering the best news to those fans who’ve waited in line to see stars Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Holland Roden, and the rest of the cast take the stage. And Thursday was no different. The network continued its annual tradition of announcing series renewals during the show’s Comic-Con panel, this summer revealing it had renewed the supernatural drama for Season 6. The series will again return for a 20-episode season, after the show’s recent Season 5 premiere totaled 1.53 million viewers.
This is the first season without original cast member Tyler Hoechlin, but his presence was still very much felt on the panel, because after Posey attempted to call him and got his voicemail, Hoechlin called back! Thanks to TVGuide.com, you can watch the entire phone call and hear Hoechlin say hello to the ballroom and admit he misses Derek all the time (see, he’s just like us!).
As sad as it was to see Hoechlin depart this season, it’s only natural that people come and go as Teen Wolf ages. Series creator Jeff Davis said that Crystal Reed, who played Allison Argent until the character’s death in Season 3, was actually the inspiration for the Senior Scribe that took place in the Season 5 premiere. However, if you’re worried about Posey and O’Brien leaving Beacon Hills any time soon, you shouldn’t be. Both actors recently spoke to Buzzfeed about their roles on the series and confirmed they’re not going anywhere.
“I’m just very aware of what this show means to me and I would never, by my own hand, say it’s time for me to move on. I’m going to miss this show when it’s over,” O’Brien said. “Forever and ever this will be my first role, and that’s so special. As long as the stories are still being told, I will have a hand in telling them.”
Posey echoed that sentiment. “Whenever we leave it’ll definitely be sad, but I love being here. I can’t imagine Teen Wolf without me—and I don’t mean that in a cocky way. It’s just that this is my home, my family. The support group I have on this set… dammit, I just really love these people.”
Us too, Posey. Us too.
Teen Wolf airs Mondays at 10pm on MTV.
I have added photos of Teen Wolf’s Holland Roden at FOX International Studios’ Comic-Con Party that she attended on July 9th during San Diego’s Comic-Con 2015. All photos are in high quality and logofree;
