Great TV shows end with a bang, and by the looks of it, MTV’S “Teen Wolf” is going to do just that with its sixth and final season. For one, it has added quite an intriguing character—a hundred-year old hellhound named Halwyn—played by Casey Deidrick of “Days of our lives” and “Eye Candy” fame. While he starts late in the game, Deidrick is set to really liven up the show. Which is quite fitting, as he really seems to know how to live life to the fullest.

DA MAN: Hi, Casey. Awesome to have you with us. so, what keeps you busy these days?
Casey Deidrick:
Hey, thanks for having me. Lately, I’ve been working my ass off in the gym. I’m doing this programming called Brute Body and it’s basically a lot of body building based off one rep max percentages mixed with some CrossFit. I’ve been reading a lot lately, something I never used to do. I think that as I’m getting older, my focus is maturing. I’m reading a lot on Stoicism and Marcus Aurelius. I also love to hike with my dog whenever i can.

DA MAN: Let’s start with your involvement in the latest season of MTV’S “Teen Wolf.” by now, you’ve appeared in at least one episode of the new season. Overall, how did you like being part of the show?
Casey Deidrick:
Honestly, it was my first role where I felt absolutely free. I loved and enjoyed every second of it. From the crew being so welcoming and the cast being so fun to work with; I actually knew Shelley Hennig from the soap opera we used to be on and I was friends with Ryan Kelley through mutual friends. Our director, Russell Mulcahy, was really supportive and really encouraged me to go as far as i could playing a hellhound.

DA MAN: Was there anything particularly memorable from your time on “Teen Wolf” that really stuck with you?
Casey Deidrick:
Well, walking around half naked was always something to look forward to everyday on set, especially outside near Malibu at night. I was freezing my ass off, and I’m lying in this ditch in my underwear, covered in leaves and dirt. i look down and there are spiders crawling all over me; it was f—–g amazing. But overall, the whole experience was memorable for me. I think my fight scene with Ryan Kelley and Dylan Sprayberry was incredible. That took around 13 hours to shoot.

DA MAN: “Teen Wolf” has always been popular, whether it’s on TV, online and especially during conventions like this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. on a more personal level, though, what do you like the most about the show?
Casey Deidrick:
I’m a huge horror fan; so, of course, I go for dark and edgy. I love werewolves and monsters and all that s–t. But I think [series developer] Jeff Davis has done a really nice job mixing the humor and these wonderful relationships the characters have with the main theme of the show.

DA MAN: This season—the sixth— would be the last for “teen Wolf.” have you ever thought what it would be like if you had joined the show earlier?
Casey Deidrick:
You know, even though I would’ve loved to, I think things happen when they’re supposed to. If I had joined earlier, I may not have been able to play a hellhound. At least I’m a part of something—a family I feel a part of—even though it was short lived.

DA MAN: Moving on to the big screen, we’ve noticed that you’re set to appear in a movie titled, rather moninously, “American Satan.” Can you tell us what the movie is all about?
Casey Deidrick:
I used to be in a metal/rock band and I became friends with the owner of Sumerian Records, a label I was trying to get signed by at the time. His name is Ash Avildsen. We stayed in touch over the years, and he mentioned to me a few times that he was starting his own production company and had a few scripts he was directing. This movie came up and he offered me a role in it. Long story short, the movie stars some really dope actors like Malcolm McDowell and John Bradley from “Game of Thrones.” Such a nice guy. But it also stars some members of one of my favorite bands. I was glad to be a part of it.

DA MAN: And, of course, you still have one more movie appearance in 2017: “a midsummer nightmare.” Can you give us a short rundown of the movie and your character’s role in it?
Casey Deidrick:
It’s based off of Shakespeare’s play, “A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream.” I play Liam, or Lysander if you remember the play. It’s f—–g creepy, I’ll tell you that. Basically, a few of us go off into the woods and some weird s–t is going on that we as an audience will just have to wait to see. It airs on Lifetime on July 31st. you definitely should see this even if you’re not into horror. It’s beautifully shot with incredible scenic views of Vancouver’s mountain side. All the characters are very dynamic and interesting. Dominic Monaghan was a childhood hero of mine, growing up watching “The Lord of the Rings,” and then being able to act with him was an unforgettable experience.

DA MAN: Now, before you started acting, you made quite a name for yourself in competitive skateboarding. Can you tell us a bit about this chapter of your life?
Casey Deidrick:
Well, I grew up skateboarding. It was such a huge part of my childhood. I think as I started getting a little older I realized I wanted to pursue acting.

DA MAN: All in all, what would you say is your greatest personal achievement to date?
Casey Deidrick:
I think I’m really proud of where I’ve gotten myself. This business is so up and down, the rejection that actors face on a daily basis is incredibly hard. I’m proud I’ve stayed as level-headed as I have. I think practicing awareness, being in the moment is an achievement. I think all the projects I’ve worked on are stepping stones and I’m just really excited to see what’s next.

DA MAN: And what are your main goals for, say, the next five years or so?
Casey Deirick:
I’d love to work with David Fincher. I’ve loved his work for so long. I’d like to play some more gritty characters, something I can sink my teeth in—no pun intended. One of my main goals is to play a Navy Seal. I’m putting that out into the universe.

DA MAN: With everything that you’re currently working on, do you still have time to pursue other, more personal, passions?
Casey Deidrick:
I’m still heavily involved in CrossFit training and eating healthy. I’m really cautious about what types of foods I put into my body, so I read a lot about nutrition. I’m going to start creating my own content, directing and writing. That’s something I’ve always been interested in.

DA MAN: Who are your personal heroes? People you really look up to in life or those you consider your role models…
Casey Deidrick:
I really admire Tom Hardy, not just because he’s an incredible actor but also him as a person. My dog Nanuk, is always teaching me to be present. He gives me so much joy. I also really admire Leonardo DiCaprio, especially when you look at all that he’s trying to do to help the environment.

DA MAN: There are perhaps quite a few people who look up to you. What is your number one piece of advice for anybody who would like to be as successful as you?
Casey Deidrick:
Eckhart Tolle wrote: “Only presence can free you of the ego, and you can only be present now, not yesterday or tomorrow.” It just resonated with me so much. For most of my life, I’ve been so hung up on the past or always looking into the future. Everything will be good when I get this, or once I have this… f–k that, it’s all bullshit. Everything is happening now, in this moment. Nothing else matters.

DA MAN: And what inspires you to wake up and face each day?
Casey Deidrick:
First, my dog, because his breath is in my face asking me to take him out and feed him. Some days it’s really hard for me to get out of bed, to be honest; but I tell myself, my dog depends on me, my family needs me, my friends need me. I have an obligation to get up and be a little bit better than the day before.

DA MAN: Finally, if you could pick a saying, quote or perhaps part of the lyrics of a song that best describes where you are today, what would it be?
Casey Deidrick:
“We are a species that has lost its way. Everything natural, every flower or tree, and every animal have important lessons to teach us if we would only stop, look, and listen.” Eckhart Tolle.

What was Tyler Posey like as a director in this week’s episode? The cast spills all in the After After Show.

Daniel Sharman landed the lead role in Netflix’s “Medici”, Variety.com confirms. Daniel played Isaac Lahey in Teen Wolf.

The producers of Netflix and Rai’s “Medici: Masters of Florence” have completed casting for season two, with Daniel Sharman and Bradley James among the new names on the Frank Spotnitz and Nicholas Meyer-created Italian period drama, Variety has learned.

An international cast is headed by Sharman (“Fear the Walking Dead”), who will take the lead role, playing a young Lorenzo the Magnificent in 15th century Florence. James (“Damien”) will star as his brother Giuliano.

Shooting on the €24 million ($28 million), eight-episode, series gets underway in Rome on August 24. Other key cast members for season two include Julian Sands (“Gotham”) as Lorenzo and Giuliano’s father, Piero, and Sebastian De Souza (“Crossing Lines”) as their friend, Sandro Botticelli.

The sophomore season of “Medici” is set 20 years after the events of the first. A young Lorenzo, the grandson of Richard Madden’s character Cosimo from the first series, is forced to take over the family bank, which has been mismanaged by his father.

As Lorenzo, his brother, and Botticelli set about trying to make Florence a great financial and cultural center, they face off against the Pazzi family, and Pope Sixtus IV, played by Raul Bova (“Alien vs. Predator”).

Sean Bean had already been announced as the Medici family’s nemesis Jacopo Pazzi. Lorenzo’s mother is played by Sarah Parish “Hatfields & McCoys”) and his mistress by Alessandra Mastronardi (“Master of None”).

The series is produced by Italy’s Lux Vide, public broadcaster Rai’s drama unit, and Frank Spotnitz’s company Big Light. “The X Files” writer Frank Spotnitz created the series with “Star Trek’s” Nicholas Meyer. Jon Cassar, executive producer and director on “24: Legacy” and “24: Live Another Day” will direct.

“Medici: Masters of Florence” will be a Netflix Original in the U.S., U.K., Canada, India, and Taiwan and Rai is the broadcaster in Italy. Altice Studio is a co-production partner and has it for its SFR Play streaming service in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. In Spain, it is with Telefonica’s Movistar Plus.
