“Maze Runner” director Wes Ball has spoken up about the on-set accident that left franchise star Dylan O’Brien in the hospital Thursday.

O’Brien was injured on the set of the YA series’ third installment, unfortunately titled “The Death Cure,” filming a scene that involved a vehicle.

“Well, it’s been a whirlwind of emotions these past few days,” Ball wrote in a letter (an image of which he tweeted on Saturday). “I’ve been overwhelmed with feelings of anger and sadness and guilt. But, ultimately I find myself left with a deep love and respect for Dylan. He is one tough cookie. I’m sorry for the grief this accident has caused his friends and family as well as my wonderful cast and crew. It’s scary seeing your friend get hurt, but fortunately, Dylan is going to be just fine. After a few weeks of rest and recovery he’ll be back up and running to finish our adventure together. All the best.”

Ball — who directed the 2014 original and 2015 follow-up “The Scorch Trials” — was not the only member of the “Maze Runner” team to share well-wishing messages about the injured actor. “Maze Runner” series author James Dashner tweeted his condolences on Friday.

“I just want to let everyone know that yes, Dylan was hurt, but that he’s going to be okay,” he said. “Not life threatening in any way,” adding, “Production is postponed but certainly not cancelled. All that matters now is that Dylan recovers. We love you, Dylan!!!”

The first chapter in the “Maze Runner” saga grossed $102 million in U.S. receipts, and “The Scorch Trials” tallied $82 million in domestic box office. “Death Cure,” the third installment, will bow on Feb. 17, 2017.

Teen Wolf Season 5 hasn’t even been dunzo for two weeks, and we’re still losing sleep over what’s to come. Like, you can’t leave us with a couple of damp footprints and then call it a day for a little while.

Luckily, we recently caught up with show creator Jeff Davis, who was able to give us a few tidbits about the new season, set to premiere this fall. Our favorite part? STYDIA.

“[Season 6] has a great Lydia-Stiles story,” the executive producer told MTV News in the video above. “I think that’ll make a lot of Stydia fans happy.” Dude. JEFF. That’s an understatement, man. You have no idea.

Oh, and Davis also promises not one, but three new bad guys. Good thing, because after these five baddies bit it, we were a little concerned that Scott & Co. might actually have a normal school year for once.

Get a few more Season 6 secrets from the man himself — including a huuuuge Liam bombshell — and stay tuned for more Teen Wolf updates to come right here! As soon as we get them. Promise.
