Question: Do you have any Teen Wolf spoilers between Stiles and Lydia? Please and thank you. –Miriam
Ausiello: There’s nothing romantic in Lydia and Stiles’ immediate future, unfortunately, but you will be happy to know that their bond will play a major part in the pack’s rescue efforts. Lydia has a deep connection to Stiles, and that will be crucial when it comes to ridding him of that pesky Japanese spirit. The question is: Can their connection also overcome his feelings for Malia?

Question: Please tell me you have some Teen Wolf scoop! —Mary Kate
Ausiello: Do I ever! The show is currently casting the role of Mason, an out-and-proud athlete, described as funny, witty and handsome. He’s also the best friend of Beacon Hills High’s new star lacrosse player, and we’ll meet both guys next season. If this sounds like Danny and Jackson 2.0, it’s probably because it is — but something tells me Mason is going to get a little more involved in the town’s supernatural shenanigans than poor, clueless Danny.

We Got This Covered once again did an awesome recap on Echo House;

Dr. Deaton (Seth Gilliam) may have been able to suppress the evil spirit, or Nogitsune, inside Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), but it was only long enough for a 72 hour psych evaluation. This set the stage to bring us back to the mental institute that was previewed on the last episode of Teen Wolf. There was something about this place that heightened Lydia’s (Holland Roden) banshee senses when it seemed like all of Beacon Hills was frantically searching for Stiles. And there’s still something mysterious about the facility. The only question is whether or not Stiles will find out what it is before he goes back to being a prisoner in his own body.

After his unexplained absence, most of which Stiles was locked inside his own mind for, he checks himself into what he describes as the “loony bin.” At first it seems like a random coincidence that Lydia was so intently attracted to this place as the site where Stiles had been during his disappearance, but nothing on Teen Wolf is ever random. It doesn’t take long before Stiles also realizes that this is where he spent at least part of that “lost” time. And that isn’t the only surprise he encounters.

It’s a small world, after all. In his first 24 hours, Stiles runs into not one, but two people that he was formerly acquainted with – Malia (Shelley Hennig), who we recently discovered is really Peter’s (Ian Bohen) daughter, and Ms. Morell (Bianca Lawson), the druid/school guidance counselor.

Finding Ms. Morell at the institute shouldn’t have been a huge leap for anyone’s imagination. Her overarching role as a druid means that she is planted in this setting to keep the balance. With all the recent events combatting her efforts, it’s almost more of a surprise that she hasn’t shown up in an earlier episode during the second half of this season of Teen Wolf than it is seeing her now.

Malia is a bit more of a curve ball. Her appearance is troubling for a couple of reasons. First, it means that we are now actively working toward the public revelation that Peter has a child – something that as I mentioned last week could be either disastrous, or a blessing in disguise. Second, she just hooked up with Stiles (ignoring the gross factor of it being on an old couch in the basement of the mental institute where who knows what has taken place).

“You’re not just an uncle.”

Oh. Dang. While Monday’s Teen Wolf was batsh*t crazy in multiple ways, perhaps one of the most baffling moments was when Peter Hale (Ian Bohen) discovered—through our favorite banshee’s expert ghost-whisper-hearing skills—that he’s a dad! While there’s no shortage of beautiful genes in that family, there’s also no shortage of evil, so we’re a little bit worried about that little wolf and what it might be capable of. Although, if Lydia (Holland Roden) and Allison (Crystal Reed) have got it right, that little wolf is neither little nor a wolf—it’s a teenage coyote, and we’ve already met her: Malia (Shelley Hennig)!

We got to talk to Ian Bohen all about Peter’s big discovery and found that he himself was pretty shocked by the left-field plot development. “It came completely out of nowhere,” he told E! News, but it made a little more sense when he explained why Peter had no idea. “Talia took that memory from him because she didn’t want him to corrupt the child.” Good call, Talia.

So will Peter’s new papa wolf status fill him with love and change his outlook on life? We’re thinking no. “He’s going to use the revelation to ultimately get what he wants. It’s going to be a tool for him,” said Bohen.

So just how evil is Peter this season?
“I think Peter’s kind of plateauing right now. He’s biding his time, he’s earning trust, he’s not doing anything too bad, and he’s getting to the point where everybody forgets how awful he was. They always wanted to kill him, but now he’s sort of trustworthy, and they’re like, ‘OK, you’re fine, you can join us.’ It’s just a build up for what he wants.”
